Freedom

Wednesday, April 19th, 2006

Yer. Hate the title. So common and uncreative. The lines are simple too… Not very good. But put some thought into this. Freedom…

Freedom

They say we are free

While demand after demand is imposed on us

Along with expectations

That are not of our own.

We live to please

Spending day after

Month after month

Year after year

In this routine

Whilst thay whisper

“You are free…”

Perhaps

Freedom is naught but an illusion

Simply a fantasy we live in

Because freedom itself

Is confined.

For our greater good.

A prisoner is free

Within the perimeter of his cell

Is he not?

Intro!! This is a haiku. A form of japanese poetry in case you don’t know. Each stanza contains 3 lines. Line 1: 5 syllables. Line 2: 7 syllables. Line 3: 5 syllables again. This is my one and only haiku!! I love it!! Wrote it in Form two. It basically celebrates LIFE! Enjoy!

Morning Glory

At the crack of dawn
The blossom unfurls its crown
Blessed with dew so pure

Embracing sunlight

The purplish-blue petals shine

Passionate to live

Dagoney

Saturday, April 8th, 2006

It was so close now. He could feel the magic seeping through the crevices of the cave. He could hear it silently call out to him. Beckoning him. The heritage that was his own. And it would never be his if he didn’t pick up his pace. He could hear Demus’s maniacal roar behind him, causing flames to scorch the walls of limestone. The heat would almost feel wonderful in the freezing temperature if it weren’t for the fact that Demus wanted him roasted well done. Almost. Then he saw it. Right at the entrance to the glacier. The flash of brilliant blue. There was no mistaking it. It was Thunor. Fury of the gods. Cry of the Elements. And it would belong to Dagoney! Lunging forward with sudden motivation, he felt a huge hand grip him by the ankle. The cave floor met him. Fast. He fell chin first, his teeth clamping his lip. The metallic taste of blood fuelled his anger. In one trained and graceful maneuver, Dagoney leapt up and delivered a full kick to Demus’s hairy chest. The beast gave an infuriated roar, more flames rose from his nostrils. Typical bad guy bravado. Dagoney ran towards the exit of the cave. The cold air blasted in his face but it didn’t matter. Thunor gleamed proudly from the rock where it lay. Compelling him to reach out and take it. He did and from the moment his skin contacted with the frighteningly cold steel, the skies roared…

Streaks of light ran down the veins in his arm. Into his blood. His hair crackled with static, forming electric blue highlights in his pale blond hair. The irises around his eyes, once a deep brown now glowed turquoise. A small smile played on his lips as he felt the intense power. Power that was now his. He felt it even in the mist formed from his bated breath. Thunor hummed gently in his hand, each charter mark inscribed from the blade to its hilt blazed in acknowledgment to the grip of its master. Dagoney felt pride burn across his chest, warming every part of his body. It was time to put himself to the test. The training he had endured for the past few years would now have to see him through.

From behind, Dagoney heard Demus’s angered snorts. The three headed, fire breathing tiger with a man’s body charged furiously. Smoke billowing, ice crunching… Dagoney felt Thunor glower in anticipation. Then in the right moment, it sang through the air. Crashed would have described it better. Time seemed to freeze as Thunor found its way between Demus’s shoulder blades. The air howled. Demus slumped onto the ice. And it was done.

Dagoney wiped the fur and dried blood from the blade. Thunor’s cry still lingered in the atmosphere, reverberating off the snow-covered mountains. His task was complete. Demus would no longer terrorize the people. And he had recovered Thunor. Just as Father wished. From the depths of his spirit, Dagoney smiled as he heard the voice he knew so well, “Alannah…”

Erm, Barney loves you!!….huh??

I deleted my previous blog coz it was getting scary. It was all depressed and stuff… I do tend to exaggerate when i’m unhappy [don't we all...] So, I’m kinda thinking this blog will be different. First of all, I WILL NOT, MUST NOT blog while i’m upset over something. Second…err, thats kinda about it. =p

So, i’ll be posting more of stuff i wrote before. Just to show off la i guess. But i really do hope to get comments. So if you like or dislike any of my erm… what should i call them? Articles? No, not quite… Short stories? Hmm… More like short short stories!! Oh, great! SSTs! Ok! So i’ll be posting some SSTs and a bit of poetry every now and then. No angst. Promise. <— Rule 2.

Well, you might be wondering why i call them SSTs or short short stories… Yes, they’re pretty short for one thing [DU-UH...!!] Also, most of my SSTs, don’t really have a beginning. More like an ending actually. And no title. Or I’ll probably come up with a lame one as i post it in. Yeesh, haven’t even thought of one for this post!! See, I find it hard to be totally engrossed in a loooooooooong wholesome story with begining, plot, sub-plots, ending….and all the other tong-tong la!! It takes a lot of…of… hard work, time, concentration, devotion, commitment… Hard to do la. Maybe if i write more then it’ll come. Hopefully.

SO….. Sit back, enjoy!

Grumble…Gtg think of a title for this post.

Good nite my freaky darlings!
